Valentine’s Day is just a few weeks away, and I’ve already started seeing splatterings of pink and red all over retail stores (and in our very festive neighbor’s yard). I even ordered Isla these adorable heart leggings and this crowd pleaser onesie from Les Petits Darlings. I cannot wait to get it in the mail!
My birthday is only four days after Valentine’s Day, so for my entire adult life, the two celebrations have been bundled together. I cannot complain, as this normally means one bigger lovefest versus two smaller ones. Last year, Sasha treated me to a romantic dinner at Haven (where we went after he proposed – sadly, it closed in the fall). We normally don’t exchange big Valentine’s Day gifts, but try to do something meaningful and sweet. I got him a number of small items last year, including personalized M&Ms, which were adorable but ugh, $70 for a bag of candy is excessive (lesson learned).
I’ve created the ideal gift guide for men to reference this Valentine’s Day (ladies, feel free to subtly share with your significant other). If he wants to write you a love note, there is the perfect Rifle Paper Co. card. If he wants to remind you daily that you’re beautiful, there is an iPhone case that does just the trick. If you’re a lady that loves jewelry, he can get you a heart necklace or something that makes a statement. Then there are pearl earrings and a gorgeous Kate Spade watch. If he’s really generous, he’ll buy you a new Tory Burch purse or sunglasses, or even the most heavenly smelling Chloe perfume. If he wants to be romantic, then he’ll buy you lingerie and perhaps even some red lipstick.
Do you have plans for Valentine’s Day? Is it a holiday that you and your love normally celebrate, or is it too commercialized for your liking?

I have that Chloe perfume and love it! I also would die if my husband bought me that Tory purse. I love it!
It’s so good – my friend has it, but I don’t. I love it!!! And yes, I would die too. Hint, hint… men!
Ah, I want everything. Definitely going to send this list to my fiancé.
Yes, I think that’s a great idea! Nothing like being subtle 😉
I will take one of everything!

we are birthday buddies – i’m ON valentine’s day [insert eye roll emoticon here]. and YES for red lipstick.
Oh heavens. Being ON Valentine’s Day is soooo romantic [serious eye roll too]. But yes, red lipstick. I had NO makeup on today so I decided I would wear red lipstick as I ran errands in workout clothes. That made sense, right?
I love all the jewelry you posted here, many have been on my list for awhile. My birthday is close to valentines day too….I wouldn’t rather have it be paired with any other holiday. SO much love…and pink, i love pink! haha 🙂 have a great day.

Did I forget our birthdays are so close?? I LOVE Valentine’s Day, but stand firm that the two cannot be combined!
Cute picks! This bracelet has been on my Facebook ads, and for the first time in ad history, I really do want it: http://www.kellywearstler.com/JHOB14150.html?cgid=cuffs&dwvar_JHOB14150_color=BURNG#start=1
