Miss Poppy Alexandra Petrovic was born last Tuesday, and we are absolutely smitten with our littlest love. I am going to share her birth story in the next few days, but in the meantime, I am so excited to share photos of her nursery. It is unbelievable to me that I first posted Georgie’s nursery just over two years ago! Where has time gone?

Before sharing anything, I have to give credit where credit is due – and that is most definitely to my talented and dear friend, Megan Hermis. Her design help with this room was so invaluable – she took a very rough vision and made it come to life, while adding so many elements I could never have dreamed up on my own. I cannot sing Megan’s praises loudly enough! She is a real saint to put up with my 24/7 text messages with questions about our house decor. Thank you, Megan!

Given that we are moving this summer, almost everyone has asked why I would move Emi out of her room and made a room for baby girl instead of just waiting until we got setup in the new house. I am well versed in this explanation now – but the two main reasons were: 1) It is easier to have the custom pieces made locally in Houston, delivered to our house then packed and moved with the rest of the house, and 2) We have our babies sleep in their own rooms from early days – Georgie still needs her own room, and Emi and Isla love sharing, so moving those two together seemed natural!

When it came to inspiration for the nursery, I fell in love with the Suzanna fabric from Lulie Wallace, and the rest is history. Or sort of! I had a blue and green room in mind and showed Megan some of the fabrics I liked, then she worked her magic and found perfect swatches for the glider, crib sheets, pillows, etc. I love a clean white space with pops of color brought in with textiles! In the new house in Austin, the nursery will have a wood lattice ceiling and blue paint on the baseboards and crown molding (all wood trim), which I’m so excited about.

Without further ado, here is baby Poppy’s nursery! A blue and green room – not because we wanted a boy after three girls, but because I think this color combination can be soft, feminine and welcoming! I already love sitting in the room rocking that sweet baby.
