My Love for Carter’s Baby Basics Line

This post is sponsored by Carter’s; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Ever since Isla was a little baby, I have bought Carter’s onesies in all different colors for every stage, beginning with newborn and going up until she was 24 months old. Sweet Emilia has been wearing the hand-me-down onesies, which still look amazing despite lots of wear from her big sister. I recently checked out the new 2018 Baby Basics Line and ordered Emi some new, colorful onesies/bodysuits (most of which are under $20 for 5!), some comfy white and black shorts, and a ‘Character set.’ The Little Boys options are equally as cute as the Little Girls selection.

The price points for these basics is perfect for bulk new baby shopping or for a gift for a friend who is expecting. I always recommend getting a handful of onesies to a new mom, as the cute outfits are fun for special occasions, but most new babies end up living in their pajamas for most of the day. Now that summer feels like it’s here in Houston, Emi’s wardrobe is transitioning to warm weather gear – i.e. as minimal fabric as possible. She will likely be living in her new onesies every day in the coming months.

You can shop the Carter’s Baby Basics line in a store near you! Carter’s is offering 20% of $40+ now through June 30 with code CART4342 online and 066944 in store.

PS When did my little babe get so big?! With her new teeth coming in up top, she is beginning to look so old to me.

Week in Review

Monday’s ‘Week in Review’ post comin’ in hot on… Friday. It’s been one of those weeks! We’re less than three months away from moving into the house, so we’re in the throes of the building process right now with ordering all of the tile, countertops, baseboards, etc. We have been at the house multiple times, meeting with the carpenter who is starting on all the paneling and cabinets. Going back today to share the plans for the closets that we worked on until midnight last night. It’s all very exciting – and exhausting 😉 But in the best way.

A few highlights from last week included seeing Mere and sweet Piper for some fun pics/video, going to Fredericksburg for Jill’s bachelorette weekend, eating family dinner with Ivana, Bob and Milly at The Del, going to Isla’s friend’s birthday party and teaching another photo class. I had one yesterday and another tomorrow – lots of teaching going on. I love it!

Isla’s dance recital is tomorrow. I can’t wait. Hope you have a great weekend. xo

Week in Review

Sweet Emi has had a high fever since yesterday, so I’ve basically haven’t left the house since Monday morning except to do school pickup/dropoff for Isla. I honestly thought it was teething related, but when it hit 103.2 this afternoon, I began thinking maybe it’s one of the millions of viruses going around right now. I pray she gets better soon!

I’ll keep this short, since she will inevitably wake up in five minutes time and the pile of dishes will only grow taller! The past week was a fun one, with Jill’s gorgeous wedding shower at one of my mom’s best friend’s house, family dinner at The Del, taking maternity photos with Jessica (taken by Sydney – I snapped three, but her gallery is unreal!), babysitting my nieces and nephew (Sasha’s cousin’s kiddos) on Sunday (the girls were in heaven!), and photographing Alex, Jennifer of  Golden Thread, and Baby Guy.

We spent lots of time working on and visiting the new house – it’s moving along now, and I need to make my mind up about door and window trim and crown moulding (i.e. spend hours on Pinterest looking at the hundreds of options!). I hope you have a wonderful week! xo

Milly’s Bubbly First Birthday Bash

On Sunday, we celebrated my niece’s first birthday (which is today!) with the best and brightest bubbly bash. The weather was in the 70s and the sun was out – you couldn’t have asked for a better day. There were ponies and prosecco, cookies, cakepops, cupcakes and the most beautiful bubble cake in the world, a moonwalk and sensory bins, tons and tons of balloons, and bubble machines working for hours on end. Milly actually smashed the cake (typical first kid, with little sugar intake previously! Ha!). She rocked her cuteheads romper – aptly named AFTER HER, no big deal (check it out here!).

Monica, again, dominated the cake. It was absolutely incredible. Those bubbles were made with gelatin and balloons – she was preparing for weeks! She’s next level. Plus, she designed the invitation, which is one of our favorite ever. Jessie’s cookies were unbelievable. The bubble wands and the champagne were my favorite! My mom made the cupcakes and bunting (thanks, Mum!). It always takes an army to pull these things off, right? Other sources below!

Sweet Milly Moo! I can’t believe she’s one. She is truly such a joyful, happy baby and we love her so much. I will be sharing more of her first birthday photo session photos very soon.

Week in Review

I’m still feeling the crash after a sugar high following Milly’s first birthday party yesterday. It was so much fun – the best bubbly birthday bash ever. There were ponies, a moon walk/bounce house, bubbles for babies, bubble for adults, balloons galore and the best cake EVER – made by Monica. I am going to share a post tomorrow with all of the photos, but am sneak peaking a few below.

The week was busy with senior photos, event photos, newborn photos, and a class field trip for Isla at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. We made final decisions for the house, and I received a few of our rugs in the mail. It’s starting to feel real! We saw all 3 sets of grandparents, had dinner with Karine and Ivana, and saw many of our friends we hadn’t seen in ages – at the Boxwood Breakfast Brunch and at Milly’s party. It’s always fun catching up with old and new friends.

Sasha, Emilia, Isla and I went to our favorite veggie burger spot in the city – The Counter, then Isla ate ice cream after a Cloud 10 Creamery while we walked around the Heights. It was a family-centric week, which is always the best. Now to finish editing all of the aforementioned photos! Hope your Monday has been terrific. xo
