Decorative Books

I have gone book crazy. Seriously though! In the past month, I have purchased nearly all of the books below. We have Domino: The Book of Decorating at the apartment, and I’ve read most of Design*Sponge at home – both are amazing. I’m so excited to flip through and read all of the others. Especially Nate Berkus’ The Things That Matter – can we please talk about how handsome he is?

PS The handwritten typography in the image are from vmac + cheese – she gave awesome free downloadable .pngs the other day here. I love them!

Bathroom Countertop Decor

I’m decorating one room at a time (in an attempt to stay sane!). I finally purchased the entryway and dining room furniture this weekend – which was exhausting as I ran between Crate and Barrel, Restoration Hardware, Anthropologie, West Elm, Z Gallerie, The Container Store, and IKEA (a nightmare). I decided to focus on the half and guest bathrooms (which look like this) first, so I purchased the following items (as inspired by Emily Schuman and Samantha Hutchinson). Lusting at Ikat @ C. Wonder

I must admit that I am currently obsessed with Ikat print, so naturally I’m lusting over everything C. Wonder. The flagship store opened in fall 2011 by Chris Burch (ex-husband of Tory), and it has the most gorgeous clothes and accessories; however, I’m in love with their home goods. The Ikat plates, mugs, and pillows are amazing – see below. The picnic set will definitely be acquired, as will the P jewelry box (after the wedding, of course). Some of my favorite finds below!

Our First Couches // Restoration Loving

I’ve got to admit it: I’m slightly obsessed with Restoration Hardware. They built one within the past two years at the nearby Highland Village in Houston (see picture below), and it’s absolutely gorgeous. I could buy everything in the entire store, and on Tuesday, I made my first step towards that by buying two Maxwell couches for The Manor. We got the three-over-three 9-ft couch and the regular 6-ft couch (both the 46-in luxe depth) in the Italian Brompton Cocoa. They won’t be delivered until March, which is good timing for when the wood floors will be in and the walls painted. I’m so excited!

My Dream Bathroom

Yesterday, one of my best friends, Kirby, introduced Sasha and I to www.Houzz.com. It’s basically Pinterest, but only for interior design, and you can buy many of the items in the pictures online. It’s amazing. Sasha and I were both freaking out and naturally had to plan date night around a trip to The Manor and Home Depot. He had sent me a laundry list (literally 60 things) that we need to do to remodel and decorate the house, and I’m going to rely heavily on Houzz to do this. First things first: the bathrooms. I looked through a million, and found my one in the picture below.

We’re going to do the bathroom exactly like this (same colors, knobs, lighting, etc.), with the exception of the tile floor. One room at a time! That’s all I can do to stay sane!
