The J. Crew Family

I absolutely adore J. Crew, and as the primary shopper of the family, Sasha and Isla inadvertently wear lots and lots of J. Crew too. I especially love a lot of the summer to fall items that J. Crew has right now. In fact, there’s a 25% off sale for these styles with the code NOWANDLATER. I received my seasonal reward card (sometimes hundreds of dollars off due to J. Crew card spendings!). I spent ages on my phone (while feeding, of course) trying to decide what to buy with the gift card. We recently ordered Sasha a pair of the 7” Stanton Shorts – nice and short for my favorite pair of legs, as well as the Heidi Long Dress for me (for an upcoming wedding in Mexico!), and the Flower Patch Tank for Isla. I decided on some of the items below – I love this assortment of J. Crew outfits for the entire family. The only non-J. Crew item are the sweet felt bows for Isla which are from A Little Lady Shop.

Dream Living Rooms

Perhaps because Isla’s nursery is complete, I am super itchy to redo our living room. I have been scouring the internet for inspiration… probably much to Sasha’s dismay! We’ve only been in our house for a year, but there are many things I would like to change. In a few years, we plan to do a custom build, and I want to have every single room mapped out before we design anything. The living room is where we spend most time (second to the kitchen, which might be surpassed by Isla’s nursery right now!), so that would be where I focused most of my attention. I also want to build a toy room, as I am a freak about baby ‘stuff’ cluttering up the house. Our good friends are turning their office into a nursery – super jealous (although I love our study!!). Some of my favorite living rooms are posted below – including my sister’s newly renovated home. What do you think? Are these your style? Sasha finds it a tad girly, but he’s generally okay with letting me make design decisions (not so much with art!).

PS We are headed to Durango today! So excited for this new chapter in our lives.

Casual Summer Days and Nights

With my due date only 15 days away, I’m doing something I haven’t done in 265 days… looking at regular clothing! No more maternity shopping for me (hallelujah, seriously!). I spent far too long the other day browsing through every single item at J. Crew – their summer collection is so dreamy. I am in love with this chambray tunic and these eyelet shorts. With Memorial Day weekend coming up, I thought I’d put together two outfits – one for brunching outdoors with friends and one for eating on the patio at night. I am so anxious to get back into my old clothes – can you tell? I want to wear both these outfits tomorrow! Is your wardrobe ready for summer? Met Gala 2014

My favorite fashion event (besides a royal wedding) is the annual Met Gala in NYC. I absolutely love the bold dresses that stars done for this big night out. I was following along on Instagram last night, and absolutely fell in love with some of my favorite star’s outfits. The nine pictures below are my favorites. Esther Houston in La Petite Mag

Esther Houston, model and wife of Hillsong United (favorite Christian band) singer, Joel Houston, was honestly the most beautiful pregnant person I have ever seen. Their cute little baby boy, Zion, is now 7 months old – did I mention he’s cute? Check out his Instagram.

Esther recently posted pictures from a maternity shoot she did with La Petite Mag when she was forty weeks pregnant (I hope I look half that good!) on her blog Miss Whoo. I absolutely love her maternity style. The striped blue maxi dress is gorgeous – I’d really like to own all of these dresses!
