Snack Bar Boxes

Snack bars at weddings are pretty standard issue nowadays. However, I normally see the goodies being shuffled onto plates or into little clear plastic bags. I was so pleased when I saw these cupcake-to-go boxes on The Sweetest Occassion. Isn’t that a great idea? I think that the yellow chevron tablecloth was the icing on the {cup}cake!

Unrelated to snack bar boxes, but amazing nonetheless: these confetti invites. Aren’t they gorgeous?

A Lucite Invite

As you already know, it’s New York Fashion Week (#nyfw). This year, my Instagram has been filled with pictures of shows, street fashion, and swag bags (so jealous, you have no idea). Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere recently posted a picture of the Michael Kors lucite invitation, and I was so taken aback by its beautiful simplicity (and uniqueness!). I did some scouring of the internet, and found other examples of lucite (or plexiglass) invitations. What a creative idea! It’s not really my cup-of-tea since I love stationary so much, but I still think they’re wonderful.

Closet Clean-Up Tips

Now that I’m back in Houston 7 days a week, I decided it was time I tackled my very disorganized closet. After much shuffling, reshuffling, and tossing out old clothes, I have a neat, color/styled coordinated closet. I thought I’d share some of the things I learned along the way (with help from recent posting by Emily Schuman here).

A Crystal Chandelier in the Woods

A fancy chandelier hanging from the ceiling in a formal hotel ballroom? Totally not my thing. An elegant crystal chandelier draped from a large oak in a backyard celebration? Totally obsessed. I love a little retro feel to the chandelier setting. The fourth picture is my favorite. Isn’t that setting to die for?

Draping your Jewels

When I moved into Apt. 335, I knew I wanted a unique way to hang my jewelry (instead of my typical over-the-door hanger). I went to Anthro, bought some fun, mismatched door handles, went to Home Depot, got them to cut me a piece of wood, bought myself some paint, and went to town. Okay, so Sasha ended up having to help with the drilling, but still! The final product is below 🙂 In hindsight, I would have preferred a piece of salvaged wood, but that can be done next time. I think my favorite jewelry holder is the first picture below! I want to recreate that whole setup for my first house.

P.S. How awesome is that clipboard jewelry display? Obsessed.
