Proudly Introducing Baby Brooks

BRooks10Last Wednesday, sweet baby Brooks entered this world, and his parents, family and friends are all enamored, as he is just adorable. I had the pleasure of meeting and taking Brooks’ photos on his one week birthday (an emotional milestone to all new parents as they scratch their heads and wonder where the last 7 days went!).

I took the photographs at Amy and Galen’s house, which is gorgeous. Brooks’ nursery is also perfect, with complementary shades of blue (cue me really wanting a baby boy!). Amy looks ridiculously good for having delivered a baby just 7 days prior. Super mom and dad! I had a couple good laughs as Galen is the tallest person I’ve ever taken photographs of, so I had to climb on their arm chairs about six different times.

I may never be able to get over little hand/finger photos. They’re seriously my favorite.

As I mentioned two weeks ago in Baby Kerr’s post, if you or your expecting friends live in Houston and would like to have hospital or newborn photos taken, please contact me!DSC_0182

Proudly Introducing Baby Kerr

Today, I had the honor of taking photographs of my friend’s newborn son, Joseph Kerr Jr. It feels like days ago that I was sharing these photographs from Julie’s shower! Kerr was born yesterday, March 18 at 5:21pm, weighing a perfect 7 pounds 2 ounces. I cannot believe that Isla was more than half a pound lighter than this bundle of joy, as he is so tiny.

Julie looked absolutely gorgeous, per usual, even after giving birth less than 24 hours earlier. I loved capturing these sweet photographs, and I wish I had some of Isla in the hospital! I will definitely be taking hospital pictures for baby #2!

Their adorable daughter, Evelyn (or Evie) arrived after we took most of the photos, and I cried when she walked in the door (cue me getting emotional typing about it!). The way she held her brother so gently makes my heart melt. She even tried to feed him some of her lollipop – already a good sharer!

I cannot wait to spend more time with this little angel. If you or any friends live in Houston and would like hospital photos taken, please contact me!

Nora’s First Birthday Party

A few weeks ago, I had a Saturday filled with kids birthday parties (three to be exact!). One of these celebrations was for Nora, my friend Danielle’s adorable daughter. Danielle owns Paper Therapy Shop, an Etsy store with the best invitations, cards, birth announcements (see Nora’s here), etc. Given Danielle’s creativity, I knew that the party was going to be perfect – and it was. A party filled with navy, gold and rose pink gold confetti, I was seriously lusting over every single detail. The invitation and ‘stats’ poster (made by Danielle) were gorgeous, as was the cake and ‘one’ script letter (from BHLDN) (although Nora was quite the hesitant eater!).

And then there was that cone backdrop. Let’s talk about that. Because Danielle handmade it (mom of the year award!). I’m pretty sure she could now sell it for $250, because it is so labor intensive. She got the tutorial from Noon Day Collection, and she obviously has more patience than I do! It did turn out great in the background of photos.

Danielle also designed a sign next to gold pipe cleaners that prompted guests to make their own ‘party gear.’ The males definitely won the award for most creativity (slightly shocking – no offense boys!)! You’ll see Nora’s gold pipe cleaner crown in the last set of photos – she was princess for the day!

I cannot believe that Nora is now almost 13 months and that Isla is almost 10. It looks like I need to get serious about planning her birthday party! I’m definitely taking notes from Nora’s colorful confetti celebration, as we had such a good time.

Celebrating Julie & Baby Kerr

On Saturday, I went to the cutest baby shower, honoring my friend Julie and her baby boy, Kerr, who is due in less than five weeks. There were a number of sweet hostesses, but the girl whose home we were at has the best interior design taste ever. I was seriously lusting at everything in their beautiful house!

All of the blue and red details of the shower were just perfect, as you’ll see in the photos below. There was a little adorable baby print with balloons on which guests wrote prayers for Kerr, which I loved! The guestbook was a baby book for people to sign, which was also a sweet touch. The invitations (by Haley Hardcastle Designs), cake and cookies all matched, and I loved the beautiful intricate design.

It was definitely a special party, and I cannot wait to meet Kerr. I’m going to be taking maternity photographs for Julie soon – I pray they turn out well! I’ve never taken any maternity pictures, but have been studying on Pinterest (naturally).

PS Y’all are seriously the best. Thank you for all of the birthday wishes yesterday! xo

Creative Baby Shower Invitations

I’m always scouring the internet for creative stationery – whether it be for a relevant life event or not. A baby shower invitation can inspire a birth announcement. A wedding save-the-date can easily become a Christmas card. A first birthday invitation You get the drill.

So although I’m not throwing any baby showers in the near future, I have been collecting some of my favorite designs recently and want to share them. I’ve posted two other favorites in the past: Geometric baby shower invitations by Lauren Chism found here and baby boy bowtie invitation by Atheneum Creative here.

I absolutely love all seven of these designs. They’re all very unique and range from brewery to literary tea party themes. I might be lying if I didn’t say the prince and gold polka dots weren’t my two favorites. Which do you like the most? Have you seen other cute ones? If so, please share the link in the comments below!
