The City of Lights (and Color!)

I’ll admit it: I have a shopping problem. I love Anthro and J. Crew – a lot. Therefore, I have put myself on a shopping ban for at least three weeks. That means no frivolous purchases, like “ohmygosh – I totally need that floral Anthro skirt!” or “Twenty neon pens for only $40? Yes, please!” Unfortunately, my self-control started before I found Paris in Color, and now I’m sad. Because, truly, I feel like I need this…

I lived in Paris for the Summer of 2009, and I haven’t been back since the Summer of 2010. Oh how I miss the most magical city in the world!

Chandelier Splendor

{m} sent me a link to Oh How Charming, and I was captivated by the homepage alone. This distinct event planning studio has the most beautiful decorations – you need to check out their website. I would like to transplant myself into any one of the weddings listed on the left-hand side. A trip to Bali, anyone?

Anyways, the picture on the landing page has gorgeous chandeliers – a must-have for any event- chabby or chic.

Now, don’t even get me started on lanterns… there will be at least 10 posts on those!

Baby Boys in Bowties

Um, I’m sorry, but is there anything in the world cuter than little boys dressed up in formal attire?

I think not.

So when I saw these adorable “little man” birthday party invitations on Oh So Beautiful Paper, my heart fluttered. Are these invites not perfect?

They were created by Atheneum Creative, a stationary boutique (conveniently) located in Houston and Charlotte. I know who I’m going to for any future invitations!

Sealed and Stamped

As you have gathered by now: I love stationary and gorgeous handwriting. But what about stamps? I must admit, I’ve never really entertained the idea of using them to replicate envy-invoking calligraphy until now.

My new favorite, Sparrow Nest Script, does customized stamps too – Glorious!

Also, using a custom stamp for an invitation is a unique, fun idea. Lindsay from McMillian+Furlow created the coolest BBQ invitation using a custom stamp – I love it!

All Chalked Up

I love chalkboards. I wish I could write on them better! Can you imagine what Emily Poe’s (of Sparrow Nest Script) calligraphy would look like on chalk? If you are a fan of this style of art, check out Dana Tanamachi’s work. She is phenomenal. I also just found out that she did the album cover chalk art for one of my favorite artists, Christy Nockels.
