The Kendra Scott Isla Necklace (Giveaway)

IslaGiveaway2One of my very best friends, Sophee, has one of the coolest jobs. She has been working for Kendra Scott since she graduated from The University of Texas, and recently switched into a new finance role. Almost two years ago on my bachelorette weekend, she told me that she had named a bracelet the ‘Ailee’ (see post here) – it was part of the 2014 Spring Atlantic Collection, and is my favorite Kendra Scott piece, naturally. This summer, she told me that she had named a necklace after Isla, and I literally cried. She is an amazing friend.

Favorite Looks of the Week

I’ve seen lots of black and white this week in the fashion blog world, and I love it. I wear mostly neutrals nowadays, which is very different than what I wore a few years ago when I was completely Anthro-obsessed (still love Anthropologie, but I don’t shop there as often). When I write the Favorite Looks of the Week post every Friday, I try to include a variety of fashion bloggers – not just the same ten week in and week out. I’ve added a few new bloggers this week – Amy of Dallas Wardrobe and Lauren of LOLO Magazine. I love both of their styles so much.

Which of these looks is your favorite? Are there other fashion bloggers I need to check out to include in my weekly roundup?

Valentine’s Day Gift Guide For Her

Valentine’s Day is just a few weeks away, and I’ve already started seeing splatterings of pink and red all over retail stores (and in our very festive neighbor’s yard). I even ordered Isla these adorable heart leggings and this crowd pleaser onesie from Les Petits Darlings. I cannot wait to get it in the mail!

My birthday is only four days after Valentine’s Day, so for my entire adult life, the two celebrations have been bundled together. I cannot complain, as this normally means one bigger lovefest versus two smaller ones. Last year, Sasha treated me to a romantic dinner at Haven (where we went after he proposed – sadly, it closed in the fall). We normally don’t exchange big Valentine’s Day gifts, but try to do something meaningful and sweet. I got him a number of small items last year, including personalized M&Ms, which were adorable but ugh, $70 for a bag of candy is excessive (lesson learned).

Favorite Looks of the Week

This week has been extra chilly in Houston, and of course, I just so happened to have two outdoor shoots (one for me, one for a friend). Sweet Isla was such a trooper, braving the 40 degree weather like a champ. I had my first ever professional video recorded, which makes me so nervous as I hate the sound of my voice! However, I’m excited to get the footage back and to share with y’all. Yesterday, my incredibly beautiful and even more sweet friend, Jessica, and I hit Houston’s beautiful Buffalo Bayou trails to take some photos for her new blog, which will launch next month. I could not be more excited about this fun project we’re working on. Is she not stunning?

Speaking of new blogs, have you checked out Jenny Journey yet? Jenny is one of my sister-in-law’s best friends, and I am already addicted to her health and overall wellness site (plus, she’s another stunner whose derrière has inspired me to do this 30 day squat challenge).

During the past week, I have loved following along as Julia galavanted around Italy, and I’m obsessed with how Rachel is styling her growing bump. I cannot get over how perfect Brighton‘s plaid + stripes look is though – it may be my favorite! Which look do you like the most?

Happy Friday!

Favorite Looks of the Week

Thank goodness it’s Friday! Seriously. This week has been very busy with Serbian Christmas Eve church service in Galveston, a very festive Serbian Christmas celebration and planning a wedding shower at our house in two weeks, and I’m so ready to have Sasha at home to help this weekend. With that said, we’re heading to Austin for a day trip to celebrate his cousin’s Slava (a celebration of one’s Saint – described on the blog a few years ago here). Our house might have Christmas decorations up for quite a bit longer at this rate!

It’s cold in Texas right now (well, Texas cold… which is 40 degrees), so I need as much layering fashion inspiration as possible. My two favorite looks this week are Blaire Eadie’s and Julia Engel’s – these ladies can do no wrong. The other eight in my top ten are spot-on too. Which look is your favorite? Do you have big weekend plans?
