Influenster BellaBox Review

4B3A0531I recently joined Influenster, which is a community of “trendsetters, social media hotshots, and educated consumers” (their words, not mine!) who live to give opinions of products and experiences. Influensters get to try new products from top brands, which is a pretty exciting part of the program. My friend, Maddie, introduced me, and I was so excited to get my first VoxBox this week – the BellaBox, filled with tons of exciting beauty products (and well, chocolate, so there’s that!). If you want to be a part of Influenster, click here [yup, that’s a referral link – I’d love if you used it!].

I’m reviewing all of the items that were in my VoxBox today! I think that I may be a little adventurous for the next box and do a vlog. Exciting stuff, right?

Talk Derby to Me

535808f0b7739$!900xThis Saturday is the 141st Kentucky Derby (they were doing this in 1874?!), and we’re going to a Derby party at Julep on Saturday. Ashley of Sugar & Cloth and Meredith of Cake & Confetti are styling the event, so you know it’s going to look fabulous.

The obvious predicament Derby-goers are faced with is their outfit for the big day. The Race for the Roses is notorious for the fashionable attendees, almost as much as the actual horse race. I’ve put together four outfits to help you decide what to wear, each being inspired by various style icons: Kate Middleton, Sarah Vickers, Lauren Conrad and Erin Andrews. Which is your favorite look? Are you getting dolled up for the Derby this year?

SpringFever

Dress | Crown | Cards | Shoes | Pillow

There is no print in the whole wide world that I love more than floral. I not-so-patiently wait for the arrival of spring so that I can dust off my bright floral dresses and blouses to don. And then comes peony season. I cannot wait for these gorgeous flowers to start inundating my Instagram feed. It’s just the best.

I am constantly adding florals to my Shop page, and so I wanted to do a post sharing all of my flowery favorites. As a completely closeted (until now, I suppose) Kylie and Kendall fan (I refuse to follow them on Instagram, but totally stalk), I thought I would never be able to pull the trigger on these Madden Girl shoes (amn’t I a bit old?); however, if Rachel thinks it’s cool, then why the heck should I not? Great logic, n’est-ce pas?

Mother’s Day DIY Gift Basket Ideas

On Sunday, May 10, I’ll celebrate my first official Mother’s Day as a mom (last year was an ‘almost there’ sort of holiday), and I’m really excited. I genuinely believe that having a baby makes you love your own mother even more, as you are able to comprehend for the first time how much they love you! I have already been wracking my brain as to what to buy my mom, and I wanted to share some ideas I have for her and also some suggestions for the men out there who need help buying their ladies gifts for Mother’s Day (hint, hint, Sasha!).

I love the idea of creating your own gift bag filled with little goodies following a certain theme, so I’m sharing spa, baking, health, coffee, and stationery-themed baskets. You can either fill a pretty wicker basket or add tissue paper to a gift box and tie a bow around it – I’ve included some good containers at the bottom of this post!

If you want to ‘go big’ and get your mom some nice pieces in the basket, I recommend pairing up with your siblings and getting her a combined gift. That’s what my two sisters and I traditionally do for Mother’s and Father’s Days.

Do you have any other good gifts to buy moms? Is there anything particular on your wish list?

Also, don’t forget to enter the $50 giveaway to The Monogram Shop! It ends tonight at midnight.

If your mom likes a little spa time, you can always buy her a gift certificate to Massage Envy or to a hotel spa (like the Houstonian’s Trellis Spa!). However, if you wanted to be more thoughtful, you can put together a few pampering items into a gift basket. I’d recommend this amazing Body Benefits Loofah (my favorite!) and the Fresh Sugar Face Polish for exfoliation, and the Clarisonic Pedi Sonic Foot Transformation and Essie nail polishes to keep her feet looking pretty. You can absolutely never go wrong with good smelling candles – I guarantee your mom would love a Diptyque candle.

If your mom loves to bake, then make her a culinary inspired gift basket, full of measuring spoons, a cake server, a cute apron, a Rifle Paper Co. recipe tin, and gorgeous white marble pastry board (totally lusting after this one!). This is also a great wedding shower gift basket idea! These items are useful for most ladies trying to stock up on kitchen supplies.

The Perfect Little White Dress

Two weeks ago, I posted a roundup of my favorite blush pink dresses (read here), and I had a request from a friend of mine who is engaged to do a refresh of an old little white dress post (read here). I’m sharing twenty-four of my favorite ‘little white dress’ finds in a number of price points, ranging from this gorgeous Forever21 dress, which costs $35, to this fun, perforated Chloe dress at $589. Also, I slipped in a romper and two maxis, which aren’t really ‘little white dresses,’ but they belong in the roundup!

When you’re engaged, there are a number of occasions to wear a white dress besides your wedding day. Couples showers, engagement parties, bachelorette parties, bridal luncheons, rehearsal dinners, etc. – the list goes on. I recently rewore a shower dress at Isla’s Christening, and I wore every white dress I own during our honeymoon to Bali. They’re handy items to have on hand!
