Whirlwind Weekend

Sasha left for Ghana on Friday, so I’ve been going non-stop since Thursday (the man cannot pack for himself!). Friday’s agenda included dinner at Cafe Brasil, drinks at Anvil, and the Accenture holiday party. Saturday called for body pump, a trip to The Manor with Paola, meeting baby Lazar, present wrapping, feeding the dogs, Lights in the Heights with Ashley and Pierson, and, finally, my sister’s Tacky Christmas Sweater party. Sunday involved two Home Depot trips, church, my parent’s house (to sign vendor checks for the wedding!), J. Crew, dog feeding, two grocery store runs (I’m a picky lady), packing for Europe, and, lastly, dinner at Vincent’s with Brittany, Joy and McKenzie. Details, details, boring details – I know. The point is: I am in dire need of this vacation. 3 days!

Thankful Thanksgiving

What a lovely holiday Thanksgiving is! I had such an amazing long weekend – annual family pictures in Eleanor Tinsley Park, Thanksgiving day with my parents and Sasha’s mom (filled with male competitiveness), a day trip to San Francisco to look at venues, catching up with friends who were at home visiting family, and decorating for Christmas. Some snapshots from the past few days are below.

Perfecting the Casual Updo

I have a (not-so-secret) confession to make: I’m terrible with hair. I cannot braid my own hair or do any sort of updo, chignon, bun, etc. Nor can I be bothered straightening my hair day-to-day. This results in the same old curled ‘do every day. It just so happens that McKenzie is the queen of hair styling and can quickly throw her hair into a braid – and it will look perfect. I feel like many of my favorite bloggers/celebrities are the same way. See my favorite updos below – I’ve got some practicing to do.
