Dog Walking Season

The temperature took a high dip in Houston this past weekend, which meant only one thing: dog walking season. Before going to the Galleria and a church meeting, Sasha and I took Sandy and Belle on a stroll through the neighborhood.

I finally got to wear my new J. Crew boyfriend button down, which I was pretty excited about.

The necklace of the season: J. Crew bubble necklace.

Obsessed with my new Kate Spade gold and white “Get Carried Away” bangle.

Share Those Snapshots

This year, McKenzie and I have gone to Denver, Chicago, Portland, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Antigua, and NYC, and while on our trips, we Instagram… a lot. As we get ready to board our flight back to Houston, we’ll send each other all of the pictures from our phones (normally around 15). This is… well, slow – to say the least. I recently read about Capsule on 100 Layer Cake. It’s a brilliant idea. And it’s simple. You create an account, an event and then you get a “join code,” which you share with anyone else with whom you want to share pictures. When you Instagram the pictures, you use this code in the hashtag, and the pictures are automatically added to the joint folder, which you are able to access on the free CapsuleCam app (or on Instagram). From CapsuleCam, you can download pictures that others have added that you like. Voilà, the perfect travel (or event) photo share solution!

A collage of Portland pictures that would have been much easier if Shoua, McKenzie and I were using Capsule.

Oh well, there’s always a next time!

Thank Goodness It’s Friday

I logged onto my computer after a long (i.e. so insanely exhausting) week of training, and I saw this cherry blossom picture on 100 Layer Cake. I instantly felt calm. I know what you’re thinking: Do I want some wine with that cheese? But seriously, it’s a gorgeous antique looking couch juxtaposed next to stunning Cherry Blossoms, and I absolutely love it. I wouldn’t mind it being transposed into my backyard at this very moment. Speaking of home, I’m heading back to Texas today, and boy, am I excited.

Elderflower and a Paper Straw, Please!

The Sweetest Occasion just posted a beautifully styled housewarming party, featuring bottles of Elderflower Pressé by Belvoir Fruit Farms, which I’d never heard about until seeing the shoot. As you already know from here, here and here, I love Elderflower – my all-time favorite cocktail is a St. Germain and club soda (with a paper straw, naturally). This fruity beverage is non-alcoholic, and I’m going to have to order it ASAP. Doesn’t it look delightful? I’m going to be drinking it by the gallon.

Relish Fine Foods

I met one of my best friends at Relish on San Felipe for lunch, and I’m officially obsessed. The beautiful glass building lends itself to wonderful people watching, as customers come and go into this “fine foods” shop & café. I’ve driven by a million times and always wanted to eat there, and when Paola and I were trying to decide where to meet up, it was the first place that came to mind. And trust me, we weren’t disappointed. We both got side salads (see pictures below), as well as the Beet and Goat Cheese salad (pour moi) and the Summer Strawberry salad. They were light and refreshing, and I plan on going back ASAP.
