Week in Review

Yesterday, we celebrated Serbian Easter (or all Orthodox Easters!) – we spent the morning at the Serbian church in Galveston, then had an egg hunt and lunch at Sasha’s cousin’s house. The kids all had the best time playing together, running around finding eggs and jumping on the trampoline. It was the perfect way to end a week filled with house planning and photo-taking, but which began with a trip to Brenham/Chappell Hill with Sydney and Cam. I had never been to the Blue Bell Factory, and it was a fun place to stop by and visit (and Isla got free ice cream!). The bluebonnets in Chappell Hill were literally breathtaking. I could have taken ten million photos in the endless fields. Ah, have I mentioned before that I love spring?

This week is filled with photo sessions and preparing for Milly’s party on Sunday. I cannot wait! I hope your week is off to the best start. xo

Week in Review

Happy April! I cannot believe we’re already here. Just over two weeks until Milly turns one – it’s unreal! We took two sets of birthday photos for her last week, because hello, crazy photographer Aunt. I cannot wait to share them all on her birthday!

We also had the most joyous Easter on Sunday – we went to the 8am service at Bayou City Fellowship, then came home to put Emilia down for a nap before heading to Monica’s for an Easter egg hunt and lunch. My parents are in Colorado, so we got to celebrate with friends and family! The egg hunt was adorable, with Emi and Milly having their own hunt in the front yard before the big kids (Isla included!) raided the back yard.

Some other highlights from the week included lunch with my sweet friend Joy, whom I see far too rarely, a park date with Kirby and Erin and the kiddos, an egg hunt and class room party at Isla’s school, seeing Britt and George for a 9 month photo, doing BBG with Monica, attending a Rooted Garden workshop hosted by Nicole Burke, going to Bahama Bucks for some shaved ice with Sydney and Cam (real life photo moment from that below!), getting a much needed facial, taking newborn hospital photos for Leah of adorable baby Guy, photographing one of Mum’s best friends and her granddaughter, Harper, and picking out our lights for the new house at Lighting, Inc.

All in all, it was a good week! It’s Tuesday evening and the house is a mess, laundry needs to be done, photos need to be edited. So let’s hope things turn around quickly, ha!

Happy Monday! We had a fun weekend – I taught a photo class on Saturday morning, we celebrated sweet Parker’s first birthday, Sasha and I spent a lot of time at the new house on Sunday making some critical decisions (we have walls! Hooray!), and Kirby and the kiddos are in town, so we got to spend time with them.

I am so excited for Easter on Sunday. It’s my favorite. We took some adorable bunny pics on Friday that I’ll share tomorrow! Some other highlights from the week are as follows:

  • Shooting a Willow Crowns video that Megan shared here
  • Having a Discovery Green picnic playdate with Sydney and Cam – pics here
  • Taking Golden Thread photos for Jenn
  • Finishing week 10 of BBG with Monica
  • Enjoying popsicles with Meredith and Piper at Steel City Pops
  • Snapping photos for Alex at a spot near both of our houses
  • Teaching two photo classes (Thursday and Saturday) – I listed three additional classes last week, and May 5 sold out. There is one spot available for May 3 and one for April 26!
  • Watching Isla twirl around at ballet practice
  • Spending time with Kirby
  • Taking Milly’s 11 month photos and sending out her birthday invitations with Monica
  • Getting a passport for Emilia, which makes our UK trip feel so real!
  • Eating dinner with my parents at Hungry’s
  • Popping into The Monogram Shop to order Isla’s birthday invitations (I feel like I just finished planning Emi’s!) – I got to hug Leah one last time before I see her and sweet baby Guy on Friday at the hospital!

Probably missing something big, but that’s all I can think of at 11pm on Sunday evening! Ha. Thank you for reading – means the world to me. Lots of photos below!

Week in Review

Last Monday literally feels like a month ago. Does anyone else feel that way? I was uploading photos from the past week and am amazed that it has only been seven days since I relived my high school cheerleading days at a local trampoline park with Monica and our kids. Riley had mentioned that this particular place had long tumble tracks, and I was dying to do some flips. I was actually like a seven year old on Christmas. Pure joy! I mean, I felt it in every muscle and joint of my body on Tuesday, but totally one of the most exciting things I’ve done in ages. Some photographic evidence below!

Other highlights from the past week include going to Zachary’s 1st birthday party, hanging out with all three sets of grandparents, checking out progress on the new house (dry wall is going in this week!), going to Nottingham Park splash pad, watching Isla’s ballet class, strawberry picking at Froberg’s farm, attending church at Bayou City Fellowship, teaching my second photography class, swimming and eating al fresco at the Eskridge’s house with Ivana, Bob and Milly, and taking three sets of newborn photos (will share favorites this week!). Spring is my absolute favorite time for photos – as evidenced by a ton of them below. I can’t stop myself!

Week in Review

On Saturday, we decided to take a very last minute trip to an area southwest of Houston to visit Blessington Farms – it was so much fun; however, it totally felt every bit like Summer with the 84 degree, no breeze, no clouds-in-the-sky weather – skipping right past Spring! It would have helped if I had looked at the weather forecast for the correct city while getting ready (whoops!), and I would likely have opted for something other than dark jeans. Ha. But truly, we all had the best time racing bikes, flying endlessly down the slides, petting goats, sheep, pigs, etc., bouncing on a massive inflatable, learning how to lasso a longhorn and playing in the hay bales. Emi ‘mooed’ and ‘neighed’ and ‘baaaed’ the entire time – I was dying! We ate lunch at nearby Anthonie’s Market Grill, and it was delicious. We are definitely re-creating the trip again soon (in shorts).

Some highlights from the past week include: teaching my first official photography class (there is only one spot left – on Saturday, March 24 – if you’re interested!) with florals from Mibellarosa, taking our trip to Magnolia Market in Waco with Sydney, lots of planning and designing cabinetry at the house – Meredith, Trent, Ivana, Bob and Milly all stopped by on Sunday, spending a day with Kirby, hanging out on the driveway for hours with chalk and bubbles, celebrating Sasha’s stepmom’s 50th birthday party, finally getting a pedicure (!!!) – my last one was in May of 2017!, taking sweet Molly Hays’ newborn photos and doing BBG with Monica.

We’ve got an insane week ahead. I totally did not know it was the girls’ spring break (worst mom!) and booked myself silly, so we’ll see how that goes. Sasha is in California (so jealous!) – bad timing all around on my part! Hope you enjoy the break if yours is this week too! xo
