Moroccan Inspired Wedding

My desire to visit Marrakesh is constantly fueled by beautiful pictures I’ve seen on some of my favorite blogs, including Decor8. Almost all of the pictures I’ve seen of this Moroccan city are stunning – filled with bold colors and prints. It was in the running for our December trip, but we ended up picking Turkey and Greece instead. It’s high on the list for the next go-around. A Moroccan-inspired shoot was posted on 100 Layer Cake recently, and I am in love with the paper goods and all of the intricate details. It probably helps that I love the pairing of hot pink and turquoise – have you noticed?

Kendra Scott is Coming to Houston

Kendra Scott is opening two boutiques in Houston – in Rice Village and CityCentre – and I could not be more excited. I just recently got two new necklaces and a pair of earrings (which were gifted to me by one of my best friends, Sophee), and I love all three pieces (see pics on my Instagram). On Friday, I was mentioned on the Kendra Scott blog for contributing some of my favorite Houston ‘to-do’ items. Check it out!

Oh BHLDN, how wonderful thou art!

The Windy City

I’m in Chicago this week for Accenture’s consultant training courses, and I legitimately forgot how insanely cold this city gets. McKenzie and I came in March for a quick 24-hour adventure, and while we were absolutely frozen the whole time, we loved it. The two of us shopped on Michigan Avenue, went to Second City (highly recommend it to anyone visiting), ate at Purple Pig, took pictures in Millenium Park, met Jackson at 2 Sparrows (where I had my first St. Germain cocktail!). Some of the snapshots from the trip are below – please take note of my thermal jacket and gloves (such a weenie). I’m definitely planning another trip to Chicago soon to see Mara and Caroline, once she’s all settled in at Google.

Nautical Fall

I was in Austin last week, NYC over the weekend, and going to Chicago in a few days, yet I cannot shake this feeling of wanderlust. In my morning daydream state, I remembered one of my favorite Mark Twain quotes: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

I’m in a very nautical mood, which is appropriate given that I’d love to be spending my early fall months somewhere like the Hamptons or Nantucket. See inspiration below.

And last, but not least: Sarah Vickers of Classy Girls Wear Pearls. You simply cannot do a nautical post without mentioning her.

The Concrete Jungle

What a weekend in NYC. I love that city so much and am verrrry sad that Karine is leaving (there goes  my Kate Spade discount!). We walk through almost every area of Manhattan, ate amazing food (try Cafe Mogador and Candle Cafe), met up with a best friend who lives in Boston, went to the High Line, shopped quite a bit, tried bites at Smorgasburg in Williamsburg (Brooklyn), ate breakfast in Central Park, etc.

I cannot wait to go back again!

My favorite blogger, Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere, at Bloomingdales!
