Thanks a Latte

Sasha’s sister, aunt and cousin threw me the best shower this Saturday. I had such a great time, and got so many Crate and Barrel packages I don’t know what to do with myself! I spent yesterday writing all 41 ‘thank you’ cards with my new Shutterfly stationery (best discounts ever). I wanted to do a themed hostess gift, and given my love of all things coffee, I decided to go with ‘Thanks a Latte.’ I had way too much fun putting these together! I cannot wait to come up with the next hostess gift. Images and links are below.hostessgifts

Wedding Shower Style

affordablewhitedresses

Sasha’s aunt, sister and cousin are throwing me a bridal shower at the end of the month, and I’m beginning my dress hunt. With all of our other expenses right now with the house, I’m trying to be good and not shop too much (quite the challenge). I decided to give myself a $200 limit on the shower dress, and I found a lot of great items. My favorite five (all within the price range) are above. And this one! A late find. Which is your favorite?

1) Zara Backless White Dress, 2) J. Crew Lace Stripe Dress, 3) BHLDN Nine Muses Dress, 4) Dolce Vita Eira Dress, 5) Anthropologie Greenwich Pencil Dress

Decorative Books

I have gone book crazy. Seriously though! In the past month, I have purchased nearly all of the books below. We have Domino: The Book of Decorating at the apartment, and I’ve read most of Design*Sponge at home – both are amazing. I’m so excited to flip through and read all of the others. Especially Nate Berkus’ The Things That Matter – can we please talk about how handsome he is?

PS The handwritten typography in the image are from vmac + cheese – she gave awesome free downloadable .pngs the other day here. I love them!

Bathroom Countertop Decor

I’m decorating one room at a time (in an attempt to stay sane!). I finally purchased the entryway and dining room furniture this weekend – which was exhausting as I ran between Crate and Barrel, Restoration Hardware, Anthropologie, West Elm, Z Gallerie, The Container Store, and IKEA (a nightmare). I decided to focus on the half and guest bathrooms (which look like this) first, so I purchased the following items (as inspired by Emily Schuman and Samantha Hutchinson). I still need to buy a cute little basket, but have lots of good coffee table books to use!bathroom_counter1) Glass Melon Knobs from Anthopologie, 2) Voluspa Japonica Mini Candle from Anthropologie, 3) Barr-Co Soap Bar from Anthropologie, 4) Provence Perfume Bottles from Anthropologie, 5) Square Lacquer Tray from West Elm

Pieces of the Entryway

As blogged about here, I’ve been racking my brain about how to decorate our entryway. After going to Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Anthropologie, and Restoration Hardware recently, we’ve picked out some of the furniture. We are going to do a bold patterned rug in the adjoining living room, so we chose a solid color runner (5) to go under our Bluestone Console Table (4). We loved the Nailhead Chair (3) collection at Restoration, so will have one beside the table. We bought a big map print (1) on Etsy (ours is without the “Explore”) that we will mount in a thick black frame and hang over the table. There will be lots of coffee table books (see favorites below), an accent lamp (2) from Anthropologie, and many other frames and candles that we already own. The wall color will be “Glass of Milk” from the Martha Stewart Collection. It’s all coming together – slowly but surely. We’ve picked out some items for the living room, but only decided yesterday to mount the TV on top of the fireplace. One step at a time!
