Isla has mixed feelings about bath time. We bathe her around 5:45pm, then feed her from 6-6:45 every night. She’s typically pretty fussy leading up to the bath, but when that diaper comes off, it’s wail time. Once she’s physically in the warm water, she’s happy as can be, but when she leaves the heat and is back in the air conditioned bathroom, she loses her marbles. I’ve learned that the fastest way to soothe her is to put her immediately in a warm, footed onesie – something we didn’t have many of when she was born. Her entire newborn-sized wardrobe went from about 4 onesies to nearly 14 outfits, and is expanding this week by a number of Carter’s “pjs,” as we’ll need them when we head to Durango in a few weeks (still cool at night!). She is growing quickly, and I imagine she won’t be in the newborn clothing for many more weeks, so I ordered some 0-3 month sizes too. I love Carter’s clothing – almost as much as Baby Gap! Her new outfits are below – my favorite is the floral footed onesie on the bottom left. Which do you like the most?
Happy Memorial Day (Sales!)
Happy Memorial Day, everyone!
I love this holiday for multiple reasons:
- It’s important that we stop and remember those who died fighting for our country’s freedom
- It’s a wonderful opportunity to spend time with friends and family

Casual Summer Days and Nights
With my due date only 15 days away, I’m doing something I haven’t done in 265 days… looking at regular clothing! No more maternity shopping for me (hallelujah, seriously!). I spent far too long the other day browsing through every single item at J. Crew – their summer collection is so dreamy. I am in love with this chambray tunic and these eyelet shorts. With Memorial Day weekend coming up, I thought I’d put together two outfits – one for brunching outdoors with friends and one for eating on the patio at night. I am so anxious to get back into my old clothes – can you tell? I want to wear both these outfits tomorrow! Is your wardrobe ready for summer? One serious staple item to add to your cart are these shorts!

My Maternity Style
As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I frantically started searching online for maternity clothes and pregnancy fashion blogs. I had no clue where to start! Shortly after I found out, J. Crew launched their line of maternity pants (still anxiously awaiting more selections!), and then found myself buying tons of blouses from Loft’s maternity line (love these so much). I officially retired my old jeans three weeks ago, and am hanging onto my J. Crew Cafe Capris for dear life (very little time left in those!). This has meant that I’ve been on the market for some fashionable work pants – which I found at J. Crew and Asos. I bought two pairs of J. Crew’s J. Crew’s non-materity draped drawstring pants, which work well for my growing waistline, as well as two pairs of their maternity Minnie Pants. I also really like J. Crew’s white matchstick denim pants, but love my Hudson maternity jeans the most! These Asos floral camo pants could not be more comfortable – match them with a black blouse and they work for going out for dinner or going to the office.
As for dresses, I’ve been looking for empire waistlines or tunics and buying 2 to 3 sizes up to be cautious. Anthropologie has a great selection – I love this tan and coral tunic with my white matchstick denim.
Without a doubt, my favorite maternity line is Hatch Collection. After looking at their stuff non-stop for the last few weeks, I finally caved and bought this dress (in Ponte) and these shorts. I want to buy everything.
J. Crew, Loft, Asos, TopShop, H&M, Old Navy, Gap, Rachel Pally, Hatch Collection – know of any other fashionable maternity lines? Always looking for some new options, although I only have 12 weeks left! Here’s to hoping they fly by.

Whitney Port’s Venice Loft
Whitney Port’s home was recently featured on Domaine Home (obsessed with this site!) – my love for her grew as I clicked through the pictures. I’ve been a long time Whitney fan – through The Hills, to The City, and now Whitney Eve, her clothing line. Her artwork, closet (dying), kitchen and fabric choices are all spot-on. She can do no wrong! What do you think about her Venice home?
