Glitter Guide is amazing, truly amazing. Every time I get on the site, I’m so inspired – this time by Liz Bachman’s (of Grey & Scout) home. Her taste is impeccable, and I love every single detail. My favorite setups are the bath and the desk – I cannot wait to decorate both of these spaces in The Manor. Aren’t these pictures incredible? Please add iMac, white and gold shelf, and gorgeous gold rim mirror to my wishlist!
Decorative Books
I have gone book crazy. Seriously though! In the past month, I have purchased nearly all of the books below. We have Domino: The Book of Decorating at the apartment, and I’ve read most of Design*Sponge at home – both are amazing. I’m so excited to flip through and read all of the others. Especially Nate Berkus’ The Things That Matter – can we please talk about how handsome he is?
PS The handwritten typography in the image are from vmac + cheese – she gave awesome free downloadable .pngs the other day here. I love them!
1) Domino: The Book of Decorating, Design*Sponge at Home, InStyle Parties, The Newlywed Cookbook, Pure Vegan, Veganomicon, The Things That Matter, 2) Jane Eyre, Sense and Sensibility, Owl from Z Gallerie, 3) Let’s Bring Back the Cocktail, 4) Penguin Classics, 5) Style Book, Atget’s Paris, Cupcakes and Cashmere (as signed by Emily here)
Unique Guestbook Ideas
I know the wedding isn’t until July, but I keep on thinking of little details and getting stressed that I haven’t made decisions about what we are going to do, like, for example, our guestbook. I’ve done some research and found a lot of fun, creative ideas. I have my favorite, but won’t share until after the wedding! Got to leave a little bit of mystery, right?
Bathroom Countertop Decor
I’m decorating one room at a time (in an attempt to stay sane!). I finally purchased the entryway and dining room furniture this weekend – which was exhausting as I ran between Crate and Barrel, Restoration Hardware, Anthropologie, West Elm, Z Gallerie, The Container Store, and IKEA (a nightmare). I decided to focus on the half and guest bathrooms (which look like this) first, so I purchased the following items (as inspired by Emily Schuman and Samantha Hutchinson). I still need to buy a cute little basket, but have lots of good coffee table books to use!1) Glass Melon Knobs from Anthopologie, 2) Voluspa Japonica Mini Candle from Anthropologie, 3) Barr-Co Soap Bar from Anthropologie, 4) Provence Perfume Bottles from Anthropologie, 5) Square Lacquer Tray from West Elm
Rustic Chic Dining
Sasha and I don’t want to buy too many big furniture items before The Manor is ready, because we have plenty of time to decorate and want everything to piece together perfectly. We’ve bought the Maxwell couches and know which entryway and coffee tables we’ll buy (see here), so the last big purchase we’ll get for the open living/dining room space is the table and chairs. We wanted to veer away from a formal table and were leaning towards a more rustic chic style. After doing lots of browsing, we found the winner: the Emmerson Dining Table and Bench from West Elm. For the side opposite from the bench and for the head seats, we’ll have the Hudson Camelback Upholstered Side Chair from Restoration Hardware (my obsession). Cannot wait to see it all in place so that we can start buying the little decorative pieces! What does your ideal dining area look like?
