Valentine’s Crafting + Baking

Last weekend, I headed over to Christie of KiKiMac‘s gorgeous house with Danielle of Goat and Spoon, and we had a perfect “Galentine’s Crafternoon.” She had posted some Valentine’s craft ideas here and here. As you’ll see in Christie’s post, we ended up creating these pretty hearts. Please soak in all of her gorgeous touches – like the place settings, menus, and delicious vegan, gluten free food!

Of course, with this festive holiday approaching us quickly, there are lots of DIY and decor inspirations posted across the web. Oh So Beautiful Paper’s Valentine Crafting Party ideas include some of my favorite! I adore these printables from Oh So Pretty x Sugar & Cloth.

I also love this cupid’s arrow cake idea! Sasha and I would never finish that big of a cake, but I think a scaled down version would be perfect. I could even use our new favorite vegan chocolate beet muffin recipe for the cakes!

Another fun vegan Valentine’s Day recipe are these chocolate cake balls. I love finding vegan and gluten free recipes – perfect for a dinner with me and my brother-in-law, Carl, who has Celiac disease.

Gold Striped Walls

I love interior design, which you’ll know if you’ve been following along for awhile now. I am currently planning a nursery for our baby girl who will be born on June 4. We recently ordered our crib (Babyletto Mercer in all white) and bought the rug for the room (Pottery Barn Henley Rug in Ivory), so all that’s left is the rocking chair and ottoman. And, of course, the wall color. This is the biggest decision and I am so torn. I go back and forth between Rifle Paper Co. wall paper dreams, solid cream, gold wall paper, or gold and white painted stripes. I am very, very inspired by this last option, but I’m not sure this is the option we’ll go with. I’m sharing some of my favorite gold striped walls – what do you think? Appropriate for a baby room or too old? My main concern is having lots of frames hanging against the stripes and it seeming off balanced. Decisions, decisions!

This is my absolute favorite.

Whitney Port’s Venice Loft

Whitney Port’s home was recently featured on Domaine Home (obsessed with this site!) – my love for her grew as I clicked through the pictures. I’ve been a long time Whitney fan – through The Hills, to The City, and now Whitney Eve, her clothing line. Her artwork, closet (dying), kitchen and fabric choices are all spot-on. She can do no wrong! What do you think about her Venice home?

Polka Dot Nursery

I have been browsing through Grey Likes Baby recently (of course), and I found this fun polka dot room, which I love! I saw similar gold dot decals at Land of Nod, and thought about doing a Taylor Sterling-esque room (see first picture below) for our baby girl, but Sasha thinks it’s too grown up for a nursery. I love the bookshelves, the animal hooks, the gold end table, and the gorgeous lamp. Great details! I prefer this golden nursery, but there are a lot of great elements in the room below.

I’ve made quite a bit of progress on the nursery so far – crib is ordered, dresser is built, bar cart (yes, I’m crazy) is filled with baby goodies, the canopy is in! I’ve still got to buy two bookshelves, the rugs, and our chair + ottoman. I’m going to wait until we decide on a wall color before we make rug and bedding decisions. Rifle Paper Co. announced that they’re bringing out a line of wall paper in the Spring – hopefully before June! I’d die for some Rifle floral walls.

Gray Malin on One Kings Lane

Joy to the world – a Gray Malin Far & Away sale on One Kings Lane! I have honestly clicked on each picture ten thousand times. I really want to get one for our living room, but I cannot decide which one to buy! The sale prices are amazing. I cannot get over how perfectly he captures these unique scenes from mountain top skiers to sheep in the desert. I only have four more days to decide. Which one of the prints is your favorite?
